Design District Wayfinding (D&AD Awards, 2022)
A wayfinding and signage system designed for London’s Design District, a creative hub defined by diverse and highly distinctive architecture.
The project rethinks traditional wayfinding by using each building’s unique form, material, and identity as navigational cues, turning the environment itself into a guide. The system combines playful layering, bold colour, typography, and “pinning” elements to reflect the creative processes of its users.
By turning visual diversity into orientation, the project shifts the experience from confusion to exploration, encouraging users to engage with the space more actively. This approach informs my project by showing how disorientation can be reframed as curiosity through design.
