The Romanian designer is investigating how our ideas about language and its structure can shape the visual vocabularies we develop in our design work (Source: It’s Nice That).
I picked this article because I’m intrigued by how Ioana Petcu uses linguistics and language-structure as a starting point for her graphic design practice. It appeals to me because she treats typography, found visual ephemera and language theory as visual tool. Also showing how design can be deeply “concept-led”, not just visually appealing.
