OSPAAAL (the Organization in Solidarity with the People of Africa, Asia and Latin America)

OSPAAL (The Organisation of Solidarity of the Peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America) was a Cuban political movement with the stated purpose of fighting globalisation, imperialism, neoliberalism, and defending human rights.

Themes of anti-imperialism and pan africanism was a central theme of my project; I wanted to look into the protest posters especially those that used low tech printing techniques as I knew I wanted to use screenprinting in my work. I was inspired by the bold imagery as well as the stark colour choices, these two factors influenced my own design choices regarding my own posters.
