The second part of Dante’s “Divine Comedy”, between Inferno and Paradiso, the place in-between Heaven and Hell; a place, where according to Dante, people reflect on their sins on the terraces of mountains until their eventual ascension to Paradiso (heaven). There is no mention of Purgatorio in the Bible, but several branches of Christianity like Catholicism interprets the idea of purgatory as a place of purification and “cleansing”
