I find this project inspiring to me as it shows a depth of story-telling where the subject doesn’t have to be entirely visible and sometimes the lack of what you are able to see can tell even more of a narrative. Furthermore, I really enjoy her use of negatives in this project as it adds a new level of depth and makes for a visually stimulating project that really makes you consider why Sayuri has chosen to not show you the final result and instead decided to show you the unfinished product. I personally feel as though this project does a phenomenal job of showing the impacts of both isolation and grief and I love her use of layering shots to create artistic shots that embody this feeling of solitude.
