‘Touch Graphics’ (1995-present) is a New York based design studio that creates tactile maps and interactive models for blind and visually impaired users. Their work combines raised surfaces, braille, sound, and motion sensors to make spatial information accessible through touch. This practice directly relates to my project’s exploration of tactile mapping showing how material and texture can become a language of navigation and empathy for those without sight.
